Summer Student - Parks Maintenance
The Town of Tecumseh is accepting resumes for the following summer student employment opportunity in the Community & Recreation Services Department.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Parks & Horticulture the Student Employee - Parks Maintenance is a member of the Community & Recreation Services Department. In a team environment, the Student Employee - Parks Maintenance will perform a variety of duties related to the maintenance and upkeep of all municipal parks and open spaces including the maintenance of sports turf, tree and shrub beds, flower beds, and playgrounds, with a focus on quality customer service and continuous improvement processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidates must hold a valid Class G Driver’s license and be enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a Horticultural or Recreational or related educational program and have knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
Interested persons should have experience in general parks and recreation facility maintenance including: grass maintenance, tree trimming, garbage collection, painting and other related park maintenance works.
The successful candidates must be available to work 40 hours each week, Monday to Sunday, day, evening and weekend hours. The work term is between the months of April 28, 2025 through September 10, 2025.
