The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to fill the summer position of Cooperative Education - Community & Recreation Services.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager Recreation Services, the Community & Recreation Services Co-op will assist the Recreation Division of the municipality with the preparation and delivery of various recreational programs and events, including in-person and virtual activities. The successful candidate will assist with department customer service, including league scheduling, as well as enhance department marketing of programs and events including print, website and social media outlets. The candidate will be responsible for the creation of various forms of digital media content to engage the community in recreation and leisure activities from their homes. Candidate will also help to maintain the Community & Recreation’s management software database (ActiveNet) and assist on new or revise department policy and programs, liaises with other Managers to discuss research and exchange information along with preparing draft correspondence in response to inquiries regarding legislation, regulations, policies and proposed policies and initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
The preferred candidate will have experience in recreation programs and events, has the ability to meet deadlines and work under minimal supervision. The candidate must have exceptional time management, organizational skills, and have a genuine ability to work in a team environment. In addition, the preferred candidate will have experience in digital marketing and content creation and must posses a valid G Driver’s License. Preference will be given to post-secondary students enrolled in a Human Kinetic program, or related field of study.

The Town hourly rate is $19.22 (under review).
