Cooperative Education – Geographic Information Systems
The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to fill the Cooperative Education – Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Support position in our Technology & Client Service department.
Job Summary
Working in the Technology & Client Services Department, the Geographic Information System (GIS) summer student role will be responsible for assisting with maintaining, editing and creating digital data and special projects for the Town of Tecumseh. The successful candidate will help provide GIS data and mapping to various departments within the Town of Tecumseh and will assist in updating regular corporate workflows and services.
Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate must be enrolled in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Engineering Studies, Civil Engineering Technology or Computer Science program. Preference will be given to candidates with specialized courses for ESRI ArcGIS suite of products or certificate in GIS. Candidates will have knowledge and experience using software packages including ESRI ArcGIS suite of products. The preferred candidate will have remarkable attention to detail in the creation of maps and in editing of spatial features within the database. Candidates will have exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.

Salary
The Town offers an hourly rate of $19.22 (under review), with a term of employment between May 1, 2025 through August 31, 2025.
