Lifeguard/Instructor
The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is accepting resumes for the position of Lifeguard/Instructor in the Community & Recreation Services Department for the Summer of 2025.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Pool Coordinators, the successful candidates will be responsible for cleanliness of pool facilities, swim lesson instruction, private pool rental guarding, and public swim guarding, and may be assigned pool admission duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must hold current National Lifeguard (NL), Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor, CPR-C including Automatic External Defibrillator and Standard First Aid Certifications. All aquatic awards must be current and valid as a condition of employment; original qualifications MUST be presented at time of interview.
The above positions require evening, weekend and holiday working hours, starting in June 2025 to and including September 1, 2025, with mandatory pre-summer training scheduled in May. Successful applicants must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary or secondary institution.
Attendance at a Skills Evaluation is mandatory for qualified candidates in order for further consideration to be given to employment as a Lifeguard/Instructor. Evaluations will take place on December 29, 2024 starting at 1:00 pm and March 13, 2025 starting at 5:00 pm. Limited spaces are available and candidates will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.
